The Managers of the Richard Kahn Fund, the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics, give notice that they intend to proceed to an election to one or more Kahn Research Studentships, which will be tenable for one year from 1 October 2004 or another date determined by the Managers, and may be renewable for a second or third year. The value of the Studentships will be not more than £3,500 a year.
A candidate must be or about to be registered as a Graduate Student in the University, to undertake advanced study or research in the Faculty of Economics and Politics.
By the terms of the bequest, one award each year shall be open only to persons who are citizens of the USA, so applications from American citizens are particularly invited, and will receive specific attention.
Applications should be sent to the Administrative Officer, Graduate Studies, Faculty of Economics and Politics, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 9DD, to arrive no later than 19 April 2004. They should include an up to date curriculum vitae, a concise account of the study or research which the candidate intends to pursue, names of two referees (one of whom should be the current or prospective research supervisor) and a list of other funding applications both granted and in progress. Students also wishing to apply to the Raymond Burton Fund, also managed by the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics (see above), may submit one combined application to both funds.
Interest in any teaching assistantship in microeconomics, macroeconomics, or econometrics, which may be linked to this award should be indicated in the letter of application. Information about teaching assistant duties and remuneration can be obtained from the Administrative Officer at the address above.
