Keble College

RESEARCH FELLOW AND TUTOR IN ENGLISH

The College proposes to elect a Research Fellow and Tutor in English for a non-renewable fixed term of five years from 1 October 2003. The person elected will have research interests in literature in English of the nineteenth and/or twentieth centuries, and will be required to teach at undergraduate level. The teaching stint will be five hours a week averaged over the academical year. The Fellow may be asked to help in a limited way with the academical and pastoral organization of the subject.

The Fellow will not be a member of the Governing Body, but will be a full member of the Senior Common Room and be entitled to lunch and dinner at the Common Table as well as to an academic allowance of £387 a year (adjustable annually). A shared room will be available. The stipend for up to five hours of teaching a week averaged over the year will be £4,349 a year (adjustable annually). In addition, a Fellow not in receipt of other financial support will receive a housing allowance of £3,318 a year (adjustable annually). The Fellow will be eligible to join USS. Selection will be made on the basis of research potential and teaching ability. Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae (including the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of two referees) and a statement of research activity to the Warden's Secretary, Keble College, Oxford, OX1 3PG, by Thursday, 26 June 2003, and should ask their referees to write directly to the Warden's Secretary by the same date.
