As announced in the Reporter of 23 October (p. 179) an administrative error at Cambridge University Press led to an incomplete distribution of ballot papers and flysheets for voting on Grace 7 of 24 July 2002 (Principal Administrative Officers) and on Grace 1 of 15 May 2002 and the amendments thereof (Conduct of Discussions). Although immediate measures were taken to correct the errors, further representations from members of the Regent House have shown that the problems in distribution were more severe than first realized.
The Vice-Chancellor considers that, as a result, the ballot process has been compromised, and has therefore declared the current ballots void. A new timetable for the distribution and return of the ballot papers will be drawn up and announced as soon as possible.
