New Hall

FELLOWSHIP IN PURE MATHEMATICS

New Hall intends to appoint to a College Lectureship and Fellowship an individual who is, or expects soon to be, working in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics (or possibly in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics or someone working in an area of Pure Mathematics elsewhere in the University). The person appointed will be expected to teach for three to four hours a week in Full Term (mostly for students in their first or second year), and to contribute to the academic life and running of the College. The College pays College Lecturers at 20 per cent above the usual rates for supervision, and Fellows receive a Fellowship Stipend of £1,106 a year (inflated by cost of living increases).

The post will suit those with some additional form of financial support (e.g., from a Research Council) and an interest in undergraduate teaching. The post is open to men or women; appointment will be for three years in the first instance.

Further particulars can be obtained from the College's website (http://www.newhall.cam.ac.uk/), or from the President's Secretary, New Hall, Cambridge, CB3 0DF (01223 762227, e-mail ep208@cam.ac.uk). Applications and a curriculum vitae should be submitted by 12 June 2001 and the applicant should arrange for supporting references to be sent independently by the same date.
