The Faculty of English maintains strong links with practising poets and dramatists. Each year the Faculty invites applications from practitioners in the field of either poetry or drama for a Judith E. Wilson Fellowship.
The Fellowship is intended to provide an opportunity for personal writing and research; and to offer opportunities to work with students and members of the Faculty and/or Cambridge-based theatre companies.
The normal term of the Fellowship is nine months (preferably from October to June), but it may be held for a shorter time if this coincides best with professional commitments. This year the awarding committee is particularly interested in receiving applications from theatre practitioners.
The stipend for nine months is £18,000 and is negotiable for shorter periods.
Applicants should send eleven copies of a curriculum vitae, including details of relevant experience, together with the names of two referees and a short statement indicating how they would use the Fellowship, to the Secretary of the Appointments Committee, Faculty of English, 9 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DP (e-mail chgd2@cam.ac.uk), from whom further particulars may be obtained. The closing date for applications is Friday, 30 March 2001; interviews will be held on Wednesday, 16 May 2001.
