The Arthritis Research Campaign is pleased to announce that seven prestigious Ph.D. Studentships will be awarded in 2001 to encourage outstanding young science graduates to embark on a research career in rheumatology. The awards will be tenable for three years from 1 October 2001, with a tax-free stipend currently of £13,851 (in London) and £11,708 (outside London) in the first year, with annual increases thereafter. The basic tax-free stipend will be reviewed in July 2001. Applications are invited from candidates who hold or expect to hold a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the available projects.
