UNIVERSITY OFFICES

Applications are invited for the following University offices:

University Lecturers and University Assistant Lecturers

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for three or five years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is £21,435 a year, rising by eleven annual increments to £33,058.

Appointments made at University Assistant Lecturer level will be for three years, with the possibility of reappointment for a further two years. The statutory limit of tenure of a University Assistant Lectureship is five years, but all holders of the office of University Assistant Lecturer are considered for possible appointment to the office of University Lecturer during the course of their tenure. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Assistant Lecturer is £17,755 a year, rising by six annual increments to £23,256.

University Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy

University Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, to take up appointment in 2001. The Department has research interests in numerous areas from molecules to ecosystems, with particular strengths in Development, Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, and Imaging at the cellular and tissue levels. It welcomes applications at all levels from scientifically or clinically trained candidates with outstanding research programmes or potential. An enthusiasm for teaching is also essential.

University Lecturer or University Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Economics and Politics

University Lecturer or University Assistant Lecturer in any area of Economics, to take up appointment from 1 October 2001. The Faculty is particularly interested in people able to make a teaching contribution in Finance or International Economics.

OTHER POSTS

Locum Clinical Lecturers/Specialist Registrars in Paediatrics (LAT posts) in the School of Clinical Medicine

Two Locum Clinical Lecturer posts are available from 1 January 2001, for six months in the first instance. Duties will include clinical work, teaching, and the opportunity and expectation to accomplish a small research project. Clinical duties will be decided according to the interests of the candidates, but will be within the specialities of endocrinology, diabetes, oncology, neurosciences, intensive care, and some general paediatrics.
