Report of the Council on the financial position of the Chest, recommending allocations for 2000-01: Notice

10 July 2000

The Council have received the remarks made at the Discussion of this Report on 4 July 2000 (see p. 956). They have noted Dr Evans's comments on the arrangements for promotions to personal Professorships and Readerships; since these are matters which fall within the remit of the General Board, where they raise general issues not directly connected with Dr Evans's own case, the Council will ask the Board for their comments. They will themselves give consideration to these matters, and to the other points made by Dr Evans in her remarks, in the light of the General Board's comments, and respond in due course.

Dr Dodgson referred to the proposed East Forum on the West Cambridge Site. The Council expect to be able to publish a Report to the University about the development of facilities at the East Forum during the Michaelmas Term 2000.

Since these issues are not directly relevant to the main purpose of the Council's Report, which is the approval of the University's budget for the coming financial year, the Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 1, p. 934) for the approval of the recommendations of the Report.
