The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of subjects for Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2002 (Reporter, p. 719-20) as follows:
By amending the title of Paper 8
from | No subject specified |
to | Sieyes, Robespierre, and political thought in the age of the French Revolution |
By amending the title of Paper 24
from | No subject specified |
to | The cultures of Britain in the long eighteenth century |
Candidates for Part II in 2002, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period before 1750, may meet the requirement to take a pre-1750 paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 297) by offering one of the Special Subjects A, B, C, D, and E, or by offering Paper 3 or one of the Papers 12, 13, 14, and 16, as previously announced.
Candidates for Part II in 2002, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and who did not offer in that Part a paper in European History, may meet the requirement to take a European History paper in Part II by offering one of the following papers: 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20, as previously announced, and also Paper 8.
The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation will be adversely affected by this amendment.
