Education Tripos

The regulations for the Education Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 266) have been amended as set out below. The purpose of these amendments is (i) to concentrate papers in main teaching subjects in Part I of the Tripos and papers in professional study in Part II of the Tripos, and (ii) to change the title of Section V so that it more closely corresponds to the content of the course. The regulations have been amended with effect from 1 October 2000 (and will thus apply for the first time to the examination for Part I of the Tripos in 2002 and for Part II in 2004), as follows:

Regulation 9.

By deleting Section II (Curriculum and professional studies) and renumbering Section III, and by amending the first sentence of the regulation so as to read:

The examination for Part I shall comprise two sections, as set out below. Every candidate shall offer both sections.

Section I. Main subject studies.

By amending sub-paragraph (a) so as to read:

(a) course-work related to the application of the subject to the school curriculum in the primary and middle years;

Regulation 10.

Section III. Professional studies.

By amending the title of Paper 1(a) so as to read:

Paper 1(a).  The whole curriculum of the primary and middle years.

Section V. Additional professional studies.

By amending this section so as to read:

Section V. Additional curriculum studies.
