Corpus Christi College

LECTURERSHIP IN ENGLISH

The College proposes to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in English for Michaelmas Term 2000 and Hilary Term 2001. The Lecturer will be required to teach up to an average of four hours weekly on Nineteenth- and Twentieth-century Literature. The stipend will be £359 a term, plus piece rates for all teaching done, subject to inflation uprating in October. The Lecturer will be entitled to one free lunch and dinner a week during Full Term.

LECTURERSHIP IN PHYSICS

The College proposes to appoint a six-hour Lecturer in Physics for the academical year 2000-01 (1 October 2000 - 30 September 2001). The Lecturer will have tutorial responsibility and be expected to provide tutorial teaching in a selection of the following areas of the Oxford Physics course: Physical Sciences Prelims papers: Physics 1, Physics 2, Physics 3, Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2, and Mathematical Physics; Physics Part A courses: Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Atomic Physics, Kinetic Theory, Mathematical Physics, and Theory Option.

The salary will be £5,116, plus piece rates for any hours taught in excess of six, subject to inflation uprating in October. The Lecturer will have the use of a teaching room in the College (which may be shared), and will be entitled to free lunch and dinner during the week, except during closed periods.

LECTURERSHIP IN GREEK LITERATURE

The College proposes to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Greek Literature for Michaelmas Term 2000 and Hilary Term 2001. The Lecturer will be required to teach up to an average of six hours weekly, in areas such as Greek Core and Euripides for Greats, and Homer, general authors, and language work for Classics Mods; the ability to teach translation and prose composition in both Latin and Greek will be an advantage. The stipend will be £612 a term, plus piece rates for all teaching done, subject to inflation uprating in October - a total of about £2,800. The Lecturer will have some free meals during Full Term.

LECTURERSHIP IN LATIN LITERATURE

The College proposes to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Latin Literature for the academical year 2000-01. The Lecturer will be required to teach up to an average of six hours weekly, in areas such as Vergil, general authors, and language work for Classics Mods; the ability to teach translation and prose composition in both Latin and Greek will be an advantage. The stipend will be £612 a term, plus piece rates for all teaching done, subject to inflation uprating in October - a total of about £4,200. The Lecturer will have some free meals during Full Term.
