RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP

A Research Studentship is available, for work on a project aimed at the development of new techniques (probabilistic and possibilistic) for the assessment of structural integrity and the incorporation of these techniques within optimal design methods. The project is funded jointly by the EPSRC and DERA and will also involve collaboration with British Aerospace plc. The Research Student will have a good degree in either Engineering or Mathematics, and will have an interest in optimization methods. The Studentship is for three years, starting on 1 October 2000. University and College fees will be paid, together with a maintenance award at EPSRC levels, currently £6,620 a year.
