Smuts Research Fellowship in the Centre of South Asian Studies: Notice

Applications are invited for a Smuts Research Fellowship in Commonwealth Studies, tenable for up to three years from 1 October 2000. The Fellowship is not renewable and the successful candidate must pursue research relating to Commonwealth countries in South and South East Asia. The person appointed will be expected either to have obtained a Ph.D. (or equivalent) Degree within the last five years or to be on the point of submitting a doctoral dissertation by the time the appointment takes place. Short-listed candidates will be invited to submit a substantial piece of written work as part of their application. The scale of stipends is £15,361 to £18,185 a year.
