FIXED-TERM LECTURESHIP IN ENGINEERING, 2000-01

Applications are invited from suitably qualified men and women for a one-year stipendiary Lectureship in Engineering, with effect from 1 October 2000. The Lecturer will be required to teach an average of between four and six hours a week in the areas of Control, Dynamics and Computers, Structures, and Mathematics to undergraduates reading for Engineering Science and related Schools. The primary requirement is for tutorial teaching on Paper A3: Control, Dynamics, and Computers in the Honours School of Engineering Science.

The stipend will be up to £9,093 (pro rata on the incremental scale of university lecturers, pt. I - pt. III), and will be subject to revision in line with any general salary increases, together with certain College benefits and allowances. The Lecturer will have some lunching rights and a shared teaching room.

FIXED-TERM LECTURESHIP IN FRENCH, 2000-03

Applications are invited from suitably qualified men and women for a three-year stipendiary College Lectureship in French, with effect from 1 October 2000. Initially, the post will be for one year, with confirmation of a further two years after completion of the first two terms. The Lecturer will be required to give up to six hours of undergraduate teaching a week, mainly in the modern (nineteenth and twentieth century) period, together with the preparation of students for the preliminary examinations at the end of the first year. Candidates should be prepared to undertake a certain amount of language teaching. The salary will be on the University Lecturer scale £9,093-£9,935, together with certain benefits and allowances. A shared teaching room will be provided.
