Law Tripos

The regulations for the Law Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 309) have been amended as set out below. The purpose of the amendment is to enable candidates to offer Paper 13, Civil law II, in either Part IB or Part II of the Tripos. At present, there is no provision for a candidate who has obtained honours in Part IA of the Law Tripos to offer Civil law II in Part II rather than Part IB. However, several candidates have expressed an interest in taking this paper at a later stage in the Tripos. Candidates who are eligible to offer Paper 1, Civil law I, in Part IB under Regulation 21(ii), but who do not do so, will not be able to offer Paper 13 in Part II. The regulations have been amended, with effect from 1 October 2000, as follows:

Regulation 19.

By transferring Paper 13, Civil law II, from Group II to Group III.

Regulation 22.

By amending sub-paragraph (ii) so as to read as follows:

(ii) a candidate who has not previously offered Paper 1 (Civil law I) in Part IB under the provisions of Regulation 21(ii) may not offer Paper 13 (Civil law II).
