Magdalen College

STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN LAW

Magdalen College intends to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Law for one or two years, commencing on 1 October 2000. The College will pay an annual stipend of £19,250. The Lecturer will be required to provide twelve hours' teaching a week.

STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN MEDIEVAL OR EARLY MODERN HISTORY

Magdalen College intends to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Medieval or Early Modern History for the academical year 2000-01. The appointment is not renewable. The College will pay an annual stipend of £16,286. The Lecturer will be required to provide twelve hours' teaching a week.

Applications, containing a curriculum vitae and the names of two referees, together with a brief statement of teaching experience and research interests, should be sent to the Senior Tutor, Magdalen College, Oxford, OX1 4AU, by 3 April 2000. Candidates should ask referees to write directly to the Senior Tutor in their support by this date. In the case of the Lecturership in Law, candidates should specify the length of appointment preferred and the subjects that they would be able to teach.

FIXED-TERM FELLOWSHIP AND TUTORSHIP IN PHILOSOPHY

Magdalen College proposes to elect a fixed-term Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy, with effect from 1 October 2000. The post is tenable for three years, with the possibility of renewal for up to two further years. It will be held together with a University Lecturership (CUF) for the same fixed term. The combined salary will be according to age on the scale £22,257-£38,412 a year. Additional College allowances are available.
