Pembroke College

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE FELLOW FOR DEVELOPMENT

Pembroke College runs a highly successful Development Campaign under the leadership of Howard Raingold. Key to this success is accurate and timely administrative support across the full range of fundraising activities he undertakes. Duties will therefore be primarily focused on corporate and major gift fundraising, including background research, production of briefing papers, drafting of correspondence, and liaison with other Departments within the College. It is also anticipated that the post-holder will take responsibility for a number of projects in his or her own right. Depending on skills and aptitude, these would include production of an annual magazine and some fundraising.

Applicants must have a university degree, be numerate, be comfortable with Windows-based platforms, have good written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The post is an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to make a career in fundraising and development in an academic environment to gain invaluable training and experience working for an acknowledged leading practitioner in this field. Ideally, the applicant will have one or more years' work experience in an office environment, preferably in fundraising. However, a recent graduate would also be considered and responsibilities will be tailored accordingly. The salary will be in the range £14,000-£22,000, depending on experience and ability.

For further details, please contact the Fellow for Development, Pembroke College, Cambridge, CB2 1RF (tel. 01223 339079). The closing date for applications is 28 March 2000. Interviews will be held on 11 April 2000.
