Elections, appointments, and reappointment

The following elections, appointments, and reappointment have been made:

Elections

Professor W. Bonfield, CBE, B.Sc., Ph.D., London, ARSM, FIM, CEng, FREng, FBSE, Professor of Materials and Director of the IRC in Biomedical Materials, Queen Mary and Westfield College, London, elected Professor of Medical Materials from 1 January 2000 (not 1 October 1999, as announced in Reporter, p. 49).

Professor A. W. Woods, M.A., Ph.D., JN, Professor of Applied Mathematics, University of Bristol, elected BP Professor of Petroleum Science from 1 January 2000.

Appointments

University Lecturer

Clinical Veterinary Medicine. Ms N. B. Holdstock, M.A., Vet.MB., NH, Ph.D., DAR, MRCVS, appointed from 1 October 1999 for five years.

Computer Officer

Chemical Engineering. Mr N. Robinson, H.N.C., Anglia, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 August 1999 for five years.

Senior Research Officer

Applied Economics. Ms S. R. Bhalotra, N, B.A., Delhi, M.Phil., D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 1999 for three years.

Administrative Officer

University Offices (General Board Division). Mrs R. L. Gray, B.A., Queen's, Belfast, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, with special duties initially in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, from 1 October 1999 for three years.

Assistant Directors of Research

Chemistry. Mr N. Bampos, TH, Ph.D., Sydney, appointed from 1 October 1999 for five years.

Divinity. Mr A. D. Street, B.A., Ph.D., Australian National University, appointed from 1 October 1999 for five years.

Reappointment

Assistant Director of Research

Physics. Dr S. Withington, DOW, reappointed from 1 June 1999 for five years.
