Corpus Christi College

LIBRARIAN

Applications are invited for the Gaylord Donnelley Librarianship, to commence at a date to be agreed in 2000. The Librarian is responsible for the administration of the Parker Library, which is a research library of national importance, and the Butler Library, which serves primarily the undergraduates of the College. Experience in the handling of manuscripts and rare books is essential, and a research background sympathetic to some aspects of the Parker Collection is desirable. A capacity to communicate with senior scholars, undergraduates, and visitors to the College is also required. A professional qualification is not essential, but relevant administrative experience is required. Both libraries make use of library IT applications and development of existing systems is planned. The post is full-time and the stipend, which is linked to the national scales for university teachers, will be commensurate with the seniority of the appointment and standing of the successful candidate, and will be not less than that of a University Reader. The stipend is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme. The Librarian will be elected to a College Fellowship.

Further particulars and application forms are available from the Master's Secretary, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, CB2 1RH (e-mail mb271@ cam.ac.uk). Applications should be addressed to the Master, Professor Sir Tony Wrigley, to reach him not later than 31 October 1999.
