Elections and appointments

The following elections and appointments have been made:

Elections

Mr E. T. Bullmore, B.A., Oxford, M.B., B.S., Ph.D., London, MRCP, MRCPsych, Wellcome Trust Advanced Research Training Fellow and Honorary Senior Lecturer, Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, elected Professor of Psychiatry (1999) from 1 October 1999.

Mr S. D. Keynes, Litt.D., T, FRHistS, FSA, Reader in Anglo-Saxon History in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic, elected Elrington and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon from 1 October 1999.

Mr W. J. Simpson, Ph.D., G, B.A., Melbourne, University Lecturer in the Faculty of English, elected Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English from 1 October 1999.

Professor D. M. Glover, whose election to the Arthur Balfour Professorship of Genetics was announced in Reporter, p. 536, took up his appointment on 1 June 1999.

Materials Science and Metallurgy. Ms N. A. Stelmashenko, Ph.D., W, appointed from 1 June 1999 for five years.

Administrative Officer

University Offices (General Board Division). Ms J. Rose, Ph.D., London, B.Sc., Newcastle, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 June 1999 for three years, initially with special duties in the School of the Biological Sciences.
