Appointments, reappointment, and reassignment

The following appointments, reappointment, and reassignment have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Materials Science and Metallurgy. Mr M. G. Blamire, M.A., Ph.D., HH, appointed from 1 January 1999 to the retiring age.

Engineering. Mr I. J. Wassell, B.Eng., Loughborough, Ph.D., Southampton, appointed from 1 January 1999 for five years.

Clinical Lecturer

Pathology. Mr P. G. Stevenson, M.B., B.Chir., EM, D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 April 1999 for four years.

Assistant Under-Librarian

University Library. Mr I. M. Burke, B.Sc., Brunel, appointed from 26 October 1998 for three years.

Assistant Registrary

University Offices (General Board Division). Ms J. M. Radcliffe, B.Soc.Sc., Birmingham, M.Ed., British Columbia, appointed from 6 April 1999 for three years, initially with special duties in the School of Clinical Medicine.

Language Teaching Officer

Spanish and Portuguese. Ms A. Carreres, B.A., Valencia, appointed from 1 April 1999 for five years.

Computer Officers

History. Mr B. D. Argyle, B.Sc., M.Res., Manchester, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 April 1999 for three years.

University Computing Service. Mr B. J. Harris, B.A., CC, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 April 1999 for three years.

University Offices (Management Information Services Division). Ms X. C. Lin, M.Sc., Boston, B.S., Xian, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 15 March 1999 for five years.

Advisory Officers

Estate Management and Building Service. Mr J. A. Hart appointed Senior Advisory Officer from 1 April 1999 to the retiring age. Mr P. C. Sennitt appointed Advisory Officer, Grade I, from 1 April 1999 for three years.

Junior Assistant Secretary

Continuing Education. Ms E. M. Morfoot, Ph.D., Essex, appointed from 29 March 1999 for three years.

Technical Officers

Engineering. Mr A. J. Thorne appointed from 1 January 1999 for five years. Mr J. I. Gordon appointed from 1 January 1999 for five years, not four years as announced in Reporter, p. 536.

Reappointment

Counsellor

University Counselling Service. Dr L. King, CL, reappointed from 1 January 1999 for five years.

Reassignment

Administrative Officer

University Offices. Mr M. N. H. Moss, JN, Administrative Officer, Grade II, reassigned from the Registry Division to the General Board Division, initially with special duties in the Department of Plant Sciences, from 1 May 1999.
