CHARTERHOUSE PH.D. STUDENTSHIPS IN FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

The Judge Institute, following a generous benefaction from the Charterhouse Trust, is offering one Ph.D. Research Studentship, either in finance or in accounting.

Finance: A topic in the area(s) of stock market behaviour in the UK or US, applied corporate finance, or emerging markets finance, to be supervised by Dr Gishan Dissanaike; or a topic in the area(s) of corporate investment under uncertainty (including real options), capital structure, corporate insolvency and default, to be supervised by Dr Bart Lambrecht.

Required qualifications: Excellent first degree, ideally with further academic training in finance, economics, and/or econometrics.

Accounting: A topic in the area(s) of financial reporting, financial institutions and share price determination, to be supervised by Dr Richard Baker.

Required qualifications: Excellent first degree, ideally with further academic training (or work experience) in accounting, finance, or economics.

The Studentship will be granted for a three-year period, commencing October 1999, and will cover University and College fees, plus an allowance for living expenses. The deadline for applications is 31 March 1999. Short-listed candidates may be invited for interview.
