The following election and appointments have been made:
Mr C. K. ffrench-Constant, M.A., M.B., B.Chir., PEM, Ph.D., London, MRCP, University Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in the Department of Medical Genetics, has been elected to the Professorship of Neurological Genetics from 1 March 1999.
Astronomy. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Physics and Chemistry, have appointed Professor D. O. Gough, M.A., Ph.D., CHU, Director and Head of the Institute from 1 October 1999 for five years.
University Computing Service. Mrs J. M. Wilkins, B.A., M.Sc., Oxford, Ph.D., Kent, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 January 1999 for five years.
Land Economy. Mr A. W. Renwick, HH, B.Sc., London, Ph.D., Newcastle upon Tyne, appointed from 1 January 1999 for five years.
Criminology. Professor Michael Churgin, Raybourne Thompson Centennial Professor of Law, University of Texas at Austin, appointed to a Visiting Fellowship in the Institute of Criminology for the Easter Term 2000.
