Gonville and Caius College

WILDY STUDENTSHIP IN PATHOLOGY

The College invites applications from men and women of any nationality for a Wildy Research Studentship. The Studentship must be held in the Department of Pathology of the University. The holder must be admitted by the Board of Graduate Studies of the Unviersity of Cambridge as a graduate student with the intention of studying for a Ph.D. Degree from October 1999. Overseas candidates should note that this includes a test for proficiency in English.

The Studentship consists of a maintenance grant for three years (subject to satisfactory progress), at the same rate as that paid by the Medical Research Council to its Graduate Students (currently £7,070 a year). The Studentship also covers College and University fees at the 'home' rate. The Studentship is unable to pay University fees at the higher rate applicable to students from overseas, who should therefore apply for an ORS award to cover these additional fees. The Wildy Student will become a member of Gonville and Caius College, and accommodation will be available at collegiate rates. The Student will be eligible to apply to the College for certain research expenses, such as travel for purposes connected with research. Applicants must send a copy of their application to the Graduate Admissions Officer at the Department of Pathology.

Applications should be made to the Tutor for Graduate Studies, Gonville and Caius College, CB2 1TA. Each application should include a curriculum vitae, and a statement of the research project. Applicants should arrange for two referees to write directly to the Tutor for Graduate Studies on their behalf. The closing date for applications and references is 15 February 1999.
