The Faculty Board of Mathematics give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 1999, the form of the examinations for Part IA and Part II (Alternative B) of the Mathematical Tripos will be changed, as follows:
This paper will contain questions on the courses Algebra and Geometry, and Analysis I (instead of Algebra and Geometry, and Calculus and Methods).
This paper will contain questions on the courses Algebra and Geometry, and Vector Calculus (instead of Algebra and Geometry, and Calculus and Methods).
The form of the examination for Alternative (A) remains unchanged.
Two questions will be set on each of the following courses; these questions will be distributed over Papers 1, 2, and 3. The courses are: Markov Chains, Electromagnetism, Principles of Dynamics, Functional Analysis, Groups, Rings and Fields, and Dynamics of Differential Equations.
