Friends of the Fitzwilliam Museum

LECTURE SERIES, 1998-99

A series of four lectures on Collectors and collecting will take place on the following Thursdays during autumn 1998 and spring 1999:

22 October, at 6.30 p.m.: Richard, 7th Viscount Fitzwilliam, and 'the increase of learning', by Mr Duncan Robinson, Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum, in the Theatre, Peterhouse, Trumpington Street.

26 November, at 6 p.m.: The Oppé Collection of British watercolours, by Miss Jane Munro, Senior Assistant Keeper of Paintings and Drawings, in the Adeane Gallery.

28 January, at 6.30 p.m.: James Whitbread Lee Glaisher, Sc.D., F.R.s. (1848-1928): mathematician and collector, by Dr Julia Poole, Senior Assistant Keeper of Applied Arts, in the Theatre, Peterhouse, Trumpington Street.

4 March, at 6.30 p.m.: The collectors of the Wallace Collection, by Miss Rosalind Savill, Director of the Wallace Collection, in the Theatre, Peterhouse, Trumpington Street.

Tickets, priced £4 (£3 for Friends of the Fitzwilliam, students, and concessions), are available on the door. Doors open thirty minutes before the lectures commence.
