Supplements to pensions (FSSU): Notice

The Council give notice, on the authorization of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals and in accordance with the Pensions Increase (Review) Order 1998, of increases in the supplementation of pensions of retired University officers under the FSSU superannuation scheme, to be made with effect from 6 April 1998. For the purpose of determining the approved pension for retired University officers and hence their eligibility to receive a supplement under Regulation 6 or Regulation 10 of the regulations for supplements to pensions (Ordinances, 1979, p. 116), the method of calculation will be amended as follows:

With effect from 6 April 1998 each pension calculated in accordance with either Regulation 7 or Regulation 9 of the regulations for supplements to pensions, as increased by Notices of the Council (see Reporter, 1996-97, p. 613, for the most recent such Notice), will be further increased as follows:

For officers who retired

before 22 April 1997, by 3.6 per cent;
between 22 April and 21 May 1997, by 3.3 per cent;
between 22 May and 21 June 1997, by 3.0 per cent;
between 22 June and 21 July 1997, by 2.7 per cent;
between 22 July and 21 August 1997, by 2.4 per cent;
between 22 August and 21 September 1997, by 2.1 per cent;
between 22 September and 21 October 1997, by 1.8 per cent;
between 22 October and 21 November 1997, by 1.5 per cent;
between 22 November and 21 December 1997, by 1.2 per cent;
between 22 December 1997 and 21 January 1998, by 0.9 per cent;
between 22 January and 21 February 1998, by 0.6 per cent;
between 22 February and 21 March 1998, by 0.3 per cent.
