Faculty of English: Notice

JUNIOR JUDITH E. WILSON VISITING FELLOWSHIP

Applications are invited for the Junior Judith E. Wilson Visiting Fellowship for the period from October 1998 to June 1999. Applicants should normally be under the age of thirty-five. Applications are invited from poets, playwrights, and theatre practitioners at an early stage of their careers who would like the opportunity to develop their work and to interact with students and academics in the Faculty of English. Tenure of the Junior Visiting Fellowship is for two or three University terms, with a salary of £6,000 a term, and will carry with it an affiliation to a College in Cambridge. The Visiting Fellow will be expected to reside in Cambridge during the appointment and to work with students in the Faculty.

Further information may be obtained from the Secretary to the Judith E. Wilson Fund, Faculty of English, 9 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DP, to whom applications (ten copies) should be sent by 20 April 1998. Applicants are invited to provide a curriculum vitae and to write (up to 500 words) suggesting how they would like to use the Fellowship, but are asked not to send copies of their published work at this stage.
