Further to the Vice-Chancellor’s Notices of 22 November 2010 (Reporter, 2010–11, p. 198), and of 7 March 2011 (Reporter, 2010–11, p. 586), the Nomination Board hereby nominates Lord Sainsbury of Turville, K, B.A., LL.D. (Hon.), Hon. FRS, Hon. FREng, Hon. FMedSci, for the office of Chancellor of the University, in succession to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh KG KT. Lord Sainsbury has consented in writing to be nominated.

Regulation 5 (p. 106 of Statutes and Ordinances) provides that in addition to the candidate nominated by the Nomination Board, any other person shall be eligible whose nomination has been received by the Vice-Chancellor not earlier than the date of publication of the Board’s nomination and not later than twenty-eight days of term after that date. Such a nomination shall be signed by not less than fifty members of the Senate, and shall be accompanied by a statement, signed by the nominee, consenting to be so nominated.

Any further nomination must accordingly be received by the Vice-Chancellor by 5 p.m. on Friday, 17 June 2011, and must be sent as hard copies (electronic documents are not acceptable), to the Vice-Chancellor, University Offices, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN. Members of the Senate should print their name alongside their signature. The signed consent of the nominee must also be received in hard copy before the deadline. It is the responsibility of nominators to ensure that any such further nomination is received by the deadline and complies with the relevant regulation.
