Graces submitted to the Regent House on 25 March 2009

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 3 April 2009.

1. That the regulations for University Composition Fees be amended, with effect from 1 October 2009, as follows:1

SCHEDULE

By inserting in the list of courses leading to the M.Phil. Degree the following entries:
 Archaeology D+ D+ E+
 Assyriology D+ D+ E+
 Egyptology D+ D+ E+
 Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies D D E

and by rescinding the following entries:
 Archaeological Heritage and Museums D+ D+ E+
 Archaeological Science D+ D+ F
 Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing D D F
 Quaternary Science D D F
 World Archaeology D+ D+ E+

2. That, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages and with the concurrence of the General Board, the Professorship of French Philology and Linguistics be reassigned from the Department of French to the Department of Linguistics from 1 April 2009.2

Bennett be reassigned for the remainder of her tenure in order to reflect more appropriately the balance of her research interests. This proposal has the support of Professor Bennett, the Heads of the two Departments, and the Head of the School of Arts and Humanities.
