Balliol College

SIX-HOUR STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN CLASSICAL LITERATURE

Balliol College proposes, if a suitable candidate applies, to appoint a six-hour Stipendiary Lecturer in Classical Literature for the academical year 2004-05.

The Lecturer will be required to teach up to six hours for subjects in Honour Moderations in Classics and the Final Honour School of Literae Humaniores, and to take some responsibility for the organization of these courses (including Admissions), and for pastoral care of students. The Lecturer will receive a stipend of £5,896 (plus whatever increase in Lecturers' salaries is agreed this year) and certain common room rights. The College wishes to appoint someone who specializes in Greek literature, and, in particular, can teach some of the main Greek literature papers in the Final Honour School of Literae Humaniores.

Applicants should provide a letter of application supported by a curriculum vitae, and should state which papers they are able to teach. Applicants should provide the names of two referees, whom they should ask to write directly to the Senior Tutor. Applications and references must reach the Senior Tutor, Balliol College, Oxford, OX1 3BJ, by 27 February.

Balliol College is an equal opportunities employer.
