Notice of benefactions

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has accepted with gratitude the following benefactions:

(i) donations amounting to approximately £1.15m in total to date, which have been contributed by subscribers to the Faculty of Classics 2000 Appeal. The Faculty Board have recommended that the proceeds of the Appeal should be used to support the learning and teaching of the Greek and Latin languages in the University and the acquisition and development of resources for that purpose.
(ii) a benefaction of £120,000 from the Tudor Investment Corporation to provide awards known as Tudor Studentships in Financial Econometrics in the Faculty of Economics and Politics.

The Council are submitting Graces to the Regent House (Graces 1 and 2, p. 879) for the approval of regulations to govern the Appeal Fund and the Tudor Studentships.
