The Colleges of the University of Cambridge

SECRETARY OF THE SENIOR TUTORS' COMMITTEE

Applications are invited for the post of Secretary of the Senior Tutors' Committee for an agreed period of up to three years, preferably from 1 September 2003. Candidates would normally be expected to have extensive tutorial experience in Cambridge, and preferably some experience of the role of Senior Tutor. Final election to the post lies with the Senior Tutors' Committee. The role of the Senior Tutors' Committee is to develop policy and to represent the educational function of the Colleges in the University and in other inter-Collegiate and, where appropriate, external bodies. The Secretary's role is to guide and support the Senior Tutors' Committee in carrying through its business so that the Colleges may most effectively work together with the University on matters of undergraduate and graduate education.

The appointment will be for an agreed period of up to three years, and it is envisaged that it may involve full-time secondment from a College or University post. The pensionable salary for a full-time appointment will be at a level equivalent to that of Senior Assistant Registrary (currently £41,386 a year).

DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

Applications are invited for the fixed-term post of Director of Admissions for the Cambridge Colleges from 1 October 2003. The Director of Admissions, who acts on behalf of the Admissions Forum, is responsible for the development and co-ordination of admissions policy across the Colleges and has an important role as the main spokesperson for the Colleges collectively on admissions matters. Candidates should have had recent experience of the post of Admissions Tutor within a Cambridge College for at least a year.

The post is for 30% of full-time, and will be for two years in the first instance. The pensionable salary will be pro rata at a level equivalent to that of Senior Assistant Registrary (currently £41,386 a year).
