Girton College

COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

Girton College wishes to appoint a College Lecturer and Official Fellow in English from 1 October 2000, for an initial term of five years. The Lecturer will be required to teach in small group supervisions and in seminars for twelve hours a week during academic terms, and to take a full part in the administrative aspects of College teaching in English, including direction of studies and admissions. The Lecturer will be expected to teach in any one or more of the following periods: 1300-1550; 1550-1700; 1700-1830. Some of the teaching will be undertaken for other Colleges. Candidates must have an enthusiasm for teaching combined with proven ability and continuing interest in research.

The stipend, which is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme, is on a College Lecturer scale, starting at £16,286 a year. Initial placement on the scale will be determined by age and experience.
