Lucy Cavendish College

PRESIDENT

The Fellows of Lucy Cavendish College are proceeding to elect a President, who would take up office in September 2001 on the retirement of Baroness Perry of Southwark.

Lucy Cavendish College is a small and thriving College for women, which holds a unique place in the University. Of the 200 junior members, approximately half are graduate students and half are mature undergraduates (twenty-one years and over at matriculation). The new President, who is required by College statute to be a woman*, should ideally have considerable experience of academic affairs and have both interest and sympathy with the College's aims and achievements.

Expressions of interest and suggestions for possible candidates would be welcomed, in confidence, by the Vice-President, Dr Lindsey Traub, Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge, CB3 0BU.

*By the Employment Act, 1989, the College has exemption from the provisions of the Sex Discrimination Act, 1975.
