The Merrill Lynch Forum have announced details of an International Innovation Grants Competition, open to those who have been approved for a doctoral degree at any time between 1 January 1997 and 15 September 1999. Applicants must submit, by 15 September 1999, a proposal which explains how the topic of the doctoral dissertation could be translated into a commercial product or service. Applicants from most disciplines are eligible. An award of $50,000 will be made, in January 2000, for the winning proposal, and there are a number of lesser awards.
