The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has accepted with gratitude a gift of £40,000 from Dr John Chadwick, Honorary Fellow of Downing College and formerly Reader in Classics, to establish a fund for the promotion of study and research in the Greek and Latin languages and in germane subjects.
The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 5, p. 975) for the approval of regulations to govern this benefaction.
