Legal Services Office
Welcome to the Legal Services Office
We are a group of practising lawyers employed by the University. Each member of the team is both a generalist, capable of handling a range of legal matters, and a specialist with particular expertise in specific areas. We operate across a wide range of University activity, consulting external lawyers where appropriate. We also raise awareness of legal issues within the University community by running training sessions and seminars.
Our main duties are to provide legal advice and representation to the University and to retain and supervise external legal services. We support the University's administration in developing and reviewing University regulations, policies and procedures which involve legal considerations. We also represent the University's interests in public discussion of legislation and other legal issues affecting the higher education sector generally and the University in particular.
