In Her Words: Women Artists and Life Writing Symposium

For centuries, women artists have produced autobiographical accounts of their lives and careers, using diaries, letters and other types of writing as a means of resistance, reflection, and self-fashioning. Taking a broad geographical approach, this symposium will address how women artists, between 1900 and the present, navigate their artistic identities through writing.

On the 26th April Professor Astren will deliver a Woolf Institute public lecture on the topic of Cities, Writing, and Readerships: Social History and Jewish Sectarianism in the Early Centuries of Islam.

Lecture exploring the requirements of ongoing skills assessment within organisations against a context of standards and professional expectations for employee development placed on companies. It will also consider the role of the individual within differing types of working environment in the sector, and the development of career paths. Followed by free drinks reception from 6.30pm.
