Highlight The Song of the Mass: German Romantic Choral Music

Rheinberger’s a cappella Mass for double choir (subtitled 'The Song of the Mass') is one of the most beautiful choral works of the 19th century: elegant, flowing, and beautiful. We situate it among other sublime choral music from Romantic-era Germany, with songs, sacred music, and lieder by Brahms, Mendelssohn, as well as neglected songs by Mendelssohn’s sister, Fanny Hensel.
