Join us at Madingley Hall to commemorate the publishing of Hiraeth: Fifteen Authors in Search of Their Heartland; a captivating collection of stories by The ICE Pack, fifteen creative writing alumni from the Institute of Continuing Education.

We invite guests, alumni and members of our Creative Writing community to network, celebrate and hear readings from this honest, heartfelt and deeply human collection.

Fifteen authors in search of their heartland explore the Welsh sentiment of Hiraeth. 'Hiraeth', a word lifted from the Welsh valleys, refers to a yearning tinged with grief and sadness for something lost, imagined, or just out of reach.

Here the authors take the reader into their own experience of this wistful sentiment - the longing for something more, homelands left behind, childhoods relived, journeys not taken, long-lost secrets unearthed, dreams fulfilled when least expected.

Food and refreshments will be available from our Terrace bar during the event.
