Wed 6 May

St John's College

As part of the Organ Festival celebrating the installation of the College’s magnificent new organ, this service of Choral Evensong will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

The music includes a world premiere: a newly commissioned canticle setting by Cecilia McDowall, written in memory of Lucian Nethsingha. The anthem will be Herbert Howells’ A Sequence for St Michael, composed for St John’s College in 1961 to mark the 450th anniversary of the College, and the organ voluntary will be Maurice Duruflé’s Toccata from his Suite pour orgue, Op. 5.

Tickets are not required for this service. The congregation should be seated by 2.45pm, and late entry will not be permitted.

Cost: Free. No booking required.
