Great St Mary's

Music for Freedom and Peace

Mon 24 February 2025

Great St.Mary's Church

We have a wonderful concert on the third Anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, performed by the Wind Serenaders, conducted by Laurence Perkins. The programme features Bach’s Chaconne with soloists Mykhailo Sosnovskyi (flute) and Andriy Tkchuk (bassoon), both principal players in the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
This will be followed by Mozart’s Serenade in B flat K.361 known as the 'Gran Partita', one of Mozart's finest works, and truly a celebration of the joy of life, of peace and freedom, and of hope.
Laurence Perkins will speak about the work of Music Action International and Flora McCabe about UK-Med.
Admission is free, with donations invited to support the work of UK-MED and Music Action International for survivors from Ukraine, Gaza and other areas of conflict in the world.

Cost: Free, donations invited
