Kettle's Yard House and Gallery

To join this event, you do not need to be a Friend of Kettle’s Yard, but if you would like to explore similar events and support Kettle’s Yard, you can find out more about the Friends membership on our website.

Kettle’s Yard is internationally renowned for its collection of modern British art but what can its books tell us? The house contains 981 books which reflect Jim Ede’s interests in religion, travel, philosophy, and art. His library influenced the way he understood the world…and sheds light on the way he designed, curated, and cherished Kettle’s Yard.

Madison Bennett, Student Member on the Friends of Kettle’s Yard Committee, will prep you with a book-focused preamble after which you can take your time exploring the house. Attendees are encouraged to bring a book and find a cosy chair to read in.
