Advances in technology mean that we can now analyse single cells in unprecedented detail. The Human Cell Atlas is an ambitious collaborative project that aims to to map all cells in the human body. This talk will introduce the project itself, the technology it will use to analyse our cells and the software platform being built to support producing a ‘Google Maps’ for the human body.
Laura Clarke studied bioinformatics at Leeds University before joining the Ensembl project in 2001, creating the genesets for the rat, macaque and platypus genomes. At EMBL-EBI, she established data coordination for the
1000 Genomes Project and other international collaborations such as Blueprint, HipSci and FAANG. She now focuses on the data coordination for the groundbreaking Human Cell Atlas project.
