Charles Darwin in Cambridge: A Walking Tour
Fri 9 February - Sat 2 March
Great St Mary's Church
Charles Darwin, an undergraduate in Cambridge, once said “Upon the whole, the three years I spent at Cambridge were the most joyful of my happy life.”
On this walking tour with a Cambridge Green Badge Guide, you’ll find out why! Other questions that will be answered include:
Why did he end up living in three different places in the city centre despite no plans whatsoever to live in two of them?
What could possibly have made him swear at Mr Harbour and is there any truth in the suggestion that he may have inspired the TV programme “Come Dine With Me”?
You’ll also hear about a number of his descendants with close connections to Cambridge who became well-known in their own right,
The tour is approximately 2 hours.
Cost: Adults £25, under 18-year olds £15
