Big Biology Day

Sat 14 October 2023

Hills Road Sixth Form College

Big Biology Day (BBD) began in 2012 and it’s grown to become one of the largest events of its kind in the UK. BBD 2023 is the 10th and we’re looking forward to welcoming people from near and far to join us and meet our many enthusiastic and knowledgeable exhibitors. Our aim is always to have a range of activities, appealing to people of all ages, expertise, background and interests.

BBD is a free, public engagement event which brings together 40 exhibitors, including many from the University of Cambridge, representing a wide range of areas of biology including conservation, molecular biology, various aspects of medicine, animal behaviour, birds of prey, East Anglian Air Ambulance, biostatistics and much more.

An important element of the day is to inspire young people to consider following courses and careers relating to biology and most of the exhibitors will be very happy to tell visitors about their jobs and offer careers advice.

No booking is needed, it’s just turn up and enjoy. BBD 2023 is hosted by Hills Road Sixth Form College on Saturday 14th October 10am – 4pm. Come early as there’s so much to see! Sadly, no parking is available on site.

BBD is organized by Cambridge Biologists and our special thanks go to AstraZeneca for providing sponsorship, the Cambridge Festival and Hills Road Sixth Form College and its staff and students.
