TILKA Film Screening and Q&A with Victoria Lupton

Tue 19 November 2024

McCrum Lecture Theatre

TILKA is an intimate portrait of five women who come together to create a collective piece of theatre amid Lebanon’s collapse. It is a film by Seenaryo, a nonprofit that delivers theatre and education programmes across Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine. The film is an hour long and will be followed by a discussion with its producer Victoria Lupton, who is Seenaryo’s Founder & CEO, and Stefan Tarnowski, who is a fellow at Corpus Christi College.

This is a chance to engage with and learn more about the current situation on the ground in Lebanon, the continuing war on Palestine, and the reality for people - particularly women and children - living and working in those countries.

Having had its UK premiere at last year’s Cambridge Film Festival, it won Best Local Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival and a Special Jury Mention at the Beirut Women Film Festival. Link to the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RItrS0_1KiM
