Statues, Memorials, and the Invisible Ones: A Tour of Newtown
Sat 8 May 2021 - Sat 26 June 2021
Cambridge railway station
This guided tour starts at the railway station, and explores the history and characters of the Newtown area. Find out about the many statues and memorials, from rebels to refugees, scholars to rock musicians. Discover the stories of some of the local people overlooked by history. Hear about the son of an Indian carpenter who pioneered the abolition of Untouchability; about a French dancer, born in poverty, who became wealthier than Queen Victoria. And of course, there are elephants, bulls and a flying pig!
Cost: £15 per person
