Ashkelon is an archaeological site on the Israeli coastline. As one of the oldest occupied cities in the world, Ashkelon has a rich and diverse history. It is but a short walk from the home of Chaim Bezalel and Yonnah Ben Levy. Inspired by its successive occupations and material remains – Ashkelon was ruled by ancient Egyptians, Phoenicians, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Persians, Assyrians and many others in its long history of occupation – Bezalel and Ben Levy have collaborated in the fields of painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography to produce this wide-ranging exhibition of works.

Venue
| The Museum is on the first floor of the Faculty of Classics but alternative, step-free access is available. On weekdays, please ask at Enquiries to use the lift. We recommend that you let us know in advance if you require alternative access on a Saturday so that we can make your visit as straightforward as possible. | |
